The National Society Allotment of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners are promoting the National Allotment Week that runs from 10 to 16 August and we the committee are wondering whether we should hold an event?
Read the below article taken from the NSALG web site, there is a form below that can be used to suggest events we could put on and whether you have an interest in assisting with any events that result from this article.
NATIONAL ALLOTMENTS WEEK 2015, 10 – 16 AUGUST
A Plot for all Ages
Can you help us with our search? Our theme this year is designed to emphasise the benefits that allotments bring to everyone regardless of age, that they have endured through many ages and that we need to value our remaining
sites and preserve them for future generations to enjoy.
To illustrate our theme and use details in press releases and on our website we are looking for people and sites in the following categories: people who get in touch will be entered in a prize draw with a selection of
prizes ranging from sundries from Kings seeds, Home Farmer magazine subscriptions and Edible Garden Show 2016 tickets.
- The oldest plot-holder.
- The youngest plot-holder (16 and upwards)
- Youngest grower on parents plot
- The longest continuous family rental of a plot
- The oldest site
- The authority that has built the most new plots over the last 5 years
Are you holding an event or Open Day at your site during NAW? Let us know and we will send you out a NAW poster and publicise your event on our website.
